December 18, 2012 – Hansen Technologies Limited advises of the appointment of Peter Berry to the position of non-executive Director with effect from 15 December 2012.
In announcing the appointment of Peter Berry the Hansen Technologies Chairman, David Trude, said “It is a pleasure to welcome Peter as a member of our Board. Peter’s extensive investment banking experience in Australia and internationally, his active involvement in energy industry reform, and his history as a corporate lawyer specialising in acquisition and merger transactions will add considerable depth to the Board’s expertise in these areas.
Peter has no prior association with Hansen or the Hansen family and accordingly his appointment is consistent with the Board’s stated objective of increasing the level of independence on the Board. I am certain Peter has a lot to offer to Hansen I welcome him on to the Board.” Peter’s appointment brings the number of Board members back up to 6, being the same number as was in place prior to Ken Hansen’s passing in September.
About Peter Berry
Peter Berry started his career as a Corporate Lawyer with Allens in Melbourne followed by a term in New York with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom. His experience in mergers & acquisitions and related financing saw his career shift to investment banking, firstly as Head of Project Finance with CS First Boston in Melbourne, then Head of Utilities at UBS followed by the position of Head of Infrastructure in Australasia with Merrill Lynch. During this period Peter was extensively involved in advising governments and Energy market participants on market restructuring as well as the privatisation of energy assets and major infrastructure reform within the energy industry. Peter subsequently established his own finance advisory business specialising in the infrastructure sector. Peter attended the University of Melbourne and is a dual degree holder with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce.
