Andrew Hansen

Global CEO and Managing Director

Andrew Hansen has served as a Director and CEO since 1993, guiding the company through decades of innovation and growth. Under his leadership, Hansen has successfully navigated the transition from a privately held business to a publicly traded company, culminating in a highly successful IPO in 2000.

Andrews’s strategic vision and steadfast commitment to market leading technology have been instrumental in establishing Hansen as an industry leader. His tenure is marked by consistent revenue growth, international expansion, and a robust corporate culture that prioritises profit, innovation and employee well-being. With a passion for driving transformative change, Andrew continues to spearhead initiatives that position Hansen at the forefront of the market that will survive for decades to come.

Julia Chand

Global General Counsel and Company Secretary

Julia Chand joined Hansen Technologies in 2007 and plays a strategic role as General Counsel as well as Company Secretary. Julia has significant legal experience in IT, financial services and retail organizations. As General Counsel, she is responsible for all legal aspects of Hansen’s global operations and as Company Secretary, Julia is also responsible for the Company’s corporate and ASX compliance obligations.

Richard English

Chief Financial Officer

Richard is a seasoned finance executive with over 25 years of experience spanning multiple regions, having joined Hansen in 2019 and currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer. Throughout his extensive career, he has held a number of executive roles in prominent financial hubs, including Singapore, London and New York. This diverse geographical experience has provided Richard with a broad understanding of global markets and financial practices.

As a commercially focused finance leader, Richard is dedicated to consistently delivering significant business value across all facets of the organisation. His expertise lies in strategic financial planning, corporate governance, risk management and operational efficiency. He is focused on aligning financial goals with business strategies, driving sustainable growth and profitability.

He enjoys the challenge of overseeing a global finance function and leading and developing a team of professionals across multiple jurisdictions.

Scott Weir

President, Communications & Media

Scott Weir brings extensive experience in the communications and media sector, including senior positions at NTL (now VMO2) and BBC before Hansen.

Joining Hansen in 2007 to spearhead the UK operations, Scott has since held various executive roles as the company expanded across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. With the increased importance of data security, Scott assumed the role of CISO and most recently has led our Product and Industry Strategy.

Today, Scott drives our global Communications & Media vertical, leveraging his deep industry knowledge and strategic vision.

Niv Fernando

Chief Strategy Officer

With over 25 years of experience in Strategy, Corporate Development, Finance, and Law, Niv brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our leadership team. His extensive career is marked by his strategic vision and financial acumen, which have been pivotal in driving business growth and innovation.

Niv has broad global experience having led growth initiatives in multiple regions and has also spent time overseas in regional roles. His industry focus on technology and financial services has enabled him to lead transformative initiatives, positioning companies at the forefront of their sectors.

In his capacity as Chief Strategy Officer, Niv will manage the development and execution of our growth strategy including M&A, with HR and Corporate Marketing also reporting into him.

David Castree

President, Energy & Utilities

David is a seasoned senior executive with decades of global experience across diverse organisations. His career highlights include leading major transformation projects, particularly in the shift towards Software-as-a-Service and navigating sectors undergoing transition and deregulation.

Since joining Hansen in 2009, David has focused intensely on the energy and utilities sector. As President of Energy & Utilities, he spearheads efforts to enhance Hansen’s utility customer base, ensuring they remain competitive through advanced solutions. David leads a team of industry and technology experts dedicated to product development, delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Ailin Bonilla

Global HR Director

Ailin Bonilla joined Hansen in 2021, bringing extensive expertise in Human Resources and Talent management gained from diverse industries and regions. With a background spanning Engineering, Software, and Professional Services firms across APAC, the Americas, and Europe, she has excelled both as an in-house leader and consultant.

At Hansen, Ailin leads a globally dispersed team dedicated to enhancing employee support and growth strategies. Her focus ensures that our people, our most valuable assets, thrive personally and professionally, fostering enriching careers within the company.

Darren Meade

Global Chief Technology Officer

As the Global Chief Technology Officer at Hansen, Darren Meade spearheads the technical and architectural vision for our software solutions and internal technology infrastructure. With over three decades of experience here at Hansen, his journey has encompassed roles from programming and development to Global Head of Delivery.

In his current capacity, Darren is dedicated to ensuring uniformity and governance across our verticals, with a focus on technology strategy, innovation, security, tool and process standards, and compliance governance. He also oversees a streamlined IT organisation to further enhance operational efficiency and innovation globally.

Guy Tennant

Chief Product Officer, Energy & Utilities

Guy Tennant leads the Technology Strategy and Roadmap for our Energy & Utilities division at Hansen, overseeing the management of the product portfolio, associated roadmaps, and R&D investments.

Guy joined Hansen in 2013 with extensive experience in technology strategy and product development across key global hubs including the USA, London, Amsterdam, and Johannesburg.

With a strong focus on energy innovation, he drives initiatives across our product portfolio, for Tier-1 customers as well as for emerging segments, shaping the future of our Energy & Utilities offerings.

Prior to Hansen, Guy managed Engineering and Product Management for Communication Service Providers such as TV broadcasters, ISPs, Telcos, and Content Companies, building the backbone of their infrastructure before digital transformation was a buzzword.

Brian Cappellani

Chief Technology Officer, Communications & Media

Brian Cappellani is currently Chief Technology Officer, Communications and Media at Hansen Technologies.   A 30-year telecommunications industry veteran, Brian has extensive experience designing and building large scale operations and business support systems.

In his role at Hansen, Brian is currently responsible for the strategic evolution of Hansen’s Suite for Communications, Technology and Media.

A highly sought-after speaker on next generation OSS and BSS development and cloud native technologies, Brian is also an active participant in the TM Forum, including leading the ODA Component Conformance workstream.

David Trude

Chairman

David Trude has extensive experience in a variety of financial services roles within the banking and securities industries. He holds a degree in commerce from the University of Queensland and is a member of many professional associations including the Stockbrokers and Financial Advisers Association of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also Chairman of Baillieu Holst Limited, a Director of CHI-X Australia Limited and Director of ASX listed Acorn Capital Investment Fund and MSL Solutions Limited.

Lisa Pendlebury

Non-Executive Director

Lisa Pendlebury is a highly experienced executive who has worked in the pharmaceutical, consumer products and finance industry for more than 20 years. She started her career in investment banking at JP Morgan before moving to private equity with CVC Capital Partners. She held various roles in business development and strategy at Pacific Brands. For the last 12 years she has worked in the pharmaceutical industry at Mayne Pharma and has been an executive on the senior leadership team. Lisa has extensive experience in business development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, investor relations, financial reporting, corporate governance, remuneration and sustainability.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Melbourne. She has a CPA and holds a Graduate Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia. She is Treasurer of EDFA, a not-for-profit organisation.

Bruce Adams

Non-Executive Director

Bruce Adams has over 25 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer. He has practised extensively in the areas of information technology law and mergers and acquisitions and has considerable experience advising listed public companies. In early 2002, after more than 10 years as a partner of two Melbourne law firms, Bruce took up a position as general counsel of Club Assist Corporation Pty Ltd, a worldwide motoring club service provider. Bruce holds degrees in Law and Economics from Monash University.

Rebecca Wilson

Non-Executive Director

Rebecca Wilson is an experienced company director within private, ASX listed and not-for-profit organisations. Outside of Hansen, Rebecca is currently the Non-Executive Chair of healthcare technology company, Alcidion Limited (ASX ALC), and Ai-enabled medical instrumentation business Clever Culture Systems Ltd (ASX: CC5) (formerly LBT Innovations). She’s also a Non-Executive Director of the Tomisich Foundation, a NFP organisation.

In her executive career, Rebecca held global leadership roles in, marketing, communications, investor relations, capital management and corporate affairs. She has extensive experience in ESG, stakeholder engagement, issues and crisis management, M&A, and investor relations across multiple industries including technology, healthcare, retail, and professional services.

Rebecca holds a BA Arts and Grad Cert in Applied Finance & Investment. She is a Graduate of AICD with AICD course certificates in Climate Governance and Ethics in the Boardroom

David Howell

Non-Executive Director

David Howell is an accomplished executive and board director across a range of industries including financial services, retail, oil marketing and social media. Notably, David led the revitalisation and strong growth of a private equity owned Australian commercial cards business (including Motorpass) leading to a successful sale to WEX Inc. As General Manager, Financial Services at Coles Myer, he substantially influenced debit and credit card reform in the Australian payments industry. David is also Chairman of Littlepay, an Australian Fintech and Board Director and Advisor for Tiger Pistol Pty Ltd, a social media advertising technology business.

Don Rankin

Non-Executive Director

Don Rankin joined the Hansen Technologies Board in 2019. He was one of the founding partners of Pitcher Partners and National Chairman of the Pitcher Partners Association for 11 years. Don currently sits on the Executive Council of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in the past was its President for three years.

With over thirty years’ experience advising private and family businesses across a broad range of industries, he specialises particularly in assisting clients in the management, growth and evolution of their business. Don sits on a number of Family Board Advisory Committees.

Founded in 1971, Hansen is a global provider of software and services, serving the most demanding energy and communications brands around the world.

Our early origins in the management of customer and organisational data has served our customers well over the years. As a pioneer in providing some of the first web-based self-service and browser- based customer care solutions to the market we have continued to hone our software to enable energy and communications service providers to create new products and services, deliver them flawlessly, and engage customers with excellence – powered by the Hansen Create-Deliver-EngageTM suite of software applications.

In the last decade we have grown exponentially through several progressive and strategic acquisitions that have expanded our geographic scope and enhanced the business of our valued customers.

Today we are on the cusp of a new journey with our customers, to help them Power the NextTM age of communications and energy related experiences beyond the essentials of providing basic core energy and connectivity.

ndards & Certifications

As a global organisation supporting customers in various jurisdictions, Hansen is certified to multiple standards in accordance with customer and industry requirements, including:

  • ISO9001 Quality Management System Certification at selected sites for the design, development, delivery and maintenance of billing and energy market connectivity software solutions, data centre hosting and information technology outsourcing. Delivery and IT service teams at sites currently without this certification use the same processes, tools and governance as certified sites. Hansen continues to expand the number of sites that formally meet this certification.
  • ISO27001 Information Security Management System Certification at selected sites, covering the operation and maintenance of Hansen’s Data Centre, the security of the associated communications and the design, development, support and hosting of software solutions with related consultancy. Hansen teams at all company sites fall under the same ISO27001-based security management and governance practice. Hansen continues to expand the number of sites that formally meet this certification.
  • SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 independent audit report for selected Hansen solutions to meet regulatory requirements.
  • ISEA3402 Type 2 and CMMI certification have been achieved at points in time by Hansen to support specific customer projects and product development efforts.
  • ITIL methodology is the basis for the provision of Hansen services.
