New leadership roles announced for Hansen in Germany,
strengthening its Utilities division in the DACH region and advancing the integration of powercloud, a Hansen company.
February 6, 2025 – Hansen Technologies (ASX:HSN), a leading global provider of software and services to the energy, utilities, communications, and media industries, is expanding its Utilities division in the DACH region. With the appointments of Sebastian Kleinke as Country Manager Germany and Dr. Harald Varel as Delivery Manager Germany, the company is strengthening its market presence and innovation capabilities.

Sebastian Kleinke, Country Manager Germany
Sebastian Kleinke has joined Hansen as Country Manager, overseeing Hansen’s Utilities division in Germany and the wider DACH region. He will also drive further integration of powercloud and collaborate closely with existing teams.
With extensive experience in sales and strategic business development within the energy sector, Sebastian Kleinke is renowned for driving growth and innovation. Most recently, he served as Head of Sales EMEA Residential Energy Products at Tesla. Prior to that, he was Country Director DACH/Eastern Europe at Enphase Energy, leading sales efforts in key markets. His career also includes senior roles at sonnen, Shell Energy, and Vattenfall.
Dr. Harald Varel, Delivery Manager Germany
As Delivery Manager, Dr. Harald Varel will lead the development and expansion of Hansen’s Utilities products and the powercloud platform in the German-speaking market.
Dr. Harald Varel brings deep industry knowledge and extensive experience in SaaS, product management, and digital transformation. Most recently, he worked as an independent consultant specialising in AI, product, and program management. Before that, he served as Director and Tribe Lead at Transporeon, overseeing the development and launch of cloud-based logistics solutions. Earlier roles also include leadership positions at Wilken Software Group, Nokia Siemens Networks, and T-Systems.

With the appointments of Sebastian Kleinke and Dr. Harald Varel, Hansen is taking significant steps in ensuring the company’s continued expansion and innovation.
