Repurposing Tech Hardware to Help Unite Communities Through Technology – ACTS OF IMPACT
With just under 30 offices, Hansen has hardware, that, while past its used by date for our business, still has plenty of life in it. Aligned with our Waste and E-Waste Management Policy, we’ve made it our mission to ensure we re-purpose as much of our waste and E-waste by giving it a second life and keeping it out of landfills.
Just a sample of the organisations we have been able to support through our approach to embracing the circular economy model include:
- Ashtead Youth Club, UK – this organisation benefited from the donation of computer monitors. These have played a vital role in establishing a Film and Music production suite, enabling the organisation to make significant strides in providing opportunities for young people to socialise, learn new skills and prepare for the future.
- Mocha Celis, Argentina – the first high school in Argentina designed specifically to help empower and bring a level of opportunity for the transvestite, trans and non-binary community benefited from our Buenos Aires team moving to new premises. This organisation sought more desks and tables for these young people to help them complete their schooling and move onto further education or employment. Our Buenos Aires team filled a small truck of used office furniture and happily delivered.
- Knæk Cancer (Fight Against Cancer) – our team in Denmark has saved more than 550kg of server hardware and other IT equipment from landfill in a single clean up (with more to come) and has partnered with a local company that pays for such goods. The team is donating the funds raised to a Danish charity ‘Fight Against Cancer’.
