MARKET SHIFT - SUBSCRIBERS ARE WANTING OTT 

Latin American consumers want to watch what they want, when they want. They want original and localised content and they want it at their convenience on the device of their choice.

According to Digital TV Research, the region will have 48.24 million SVoD subscribers by 2023, more than double from the 21.14 million recorded at end-2017. And by 2023, OTT revenues for the Latin American region will grow by $4 billion to $6.43B; up from the $2.47 billion recorded in 2017.

One of the main issues for OTT in Latin America, unlike the United States, is the extremely low average revenue per user (ARPU). A recent report by OTI Telecom, states that the ARPU of a Pay-TV user varies from $26 per month in Mexico to $95 in the US.
